This is a little late, but I've been traveling.

At 6 months Weston's stats are

Weight - 16.6 lbs (34%)

Height - 27.3 in. (80%)

Head Circumference - 16.8 in. (19%)

He started eating solid food, and he loves carrots, sweet potatoes and corn, but won't open his mouth for green beans. He started getting up on his hands and knees by himself and looks like he'll be crawling soon. He's always making funny noises, he especially likes to growl.

Book of Mormon Stories

I love these. I found Siena reading her Book of Mormon Stories to Weston when we woke up one morning. She was singing the song and doing the actions to the primary song (she and her mom sing before they do their nightly readings together). She's going to be a great big sister some day.

Away to Denver we Go!

Weston and I went to visit Abuela and Greg and my brother in Denver for a week. My sister Jenna and my niece Siena were meeting us there from Arizona. On our way to Colorado, we visited our best friends Brady, Alyssa and Coco in Salt Lake.

We met up with Aunt Diana and cousin Krew for a tasty lunch at Nordstrom Bistro. It was the type of lunch you sit and chat for hours but don't notice how the time passes.

We arrived at Abuela's! It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Mile High City. We decided to go to the park and see how Weston liked the swing.

Its safe to say we will go again!

Siena showed off her skipping and singing skills.

It was the perfect way to start off our fun week together!

Laundry: A not so horrible chore

Whenever my mom did laundry, she would take the clean blankets straight from the warm dryer and wrap them around me and give a little squeeze with a hug. I loved the feeling of the warmth of the hug and blanket and the fresh smell of clean sheets. So I thought maybe my baby would like this too. I wrapped a warm towel around him and he gave me his big smile that I love.

Golden Afternoon

Santa brought me a guitar for Christmas ( or maybe it was a black friday steal). I have been wanting to learn forever. I took a college group guitar class my freshman year. It only planted a seed, and left me wanting for more. I love music, and I think so far Weston finds as much joy in it as I do. I have played violin and some piano for him. Though since I got my guitar, we have had our daily guitar only practice jams.

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon today. It snowed a little ( I love snow... probably the only one here) and we shared a little tune together. It was hard for him to hold still as he smiled and waved his arms at each chord I stroke. I'm searching for a good name for my guitar, but as of right now I like "golden afternoon"

Five Months

At Five Months Weston is quite the party animal. We let him stay up past his bed time for the holidays. He loves to be social, and be the center of attention. He started sitting up this month and is very interested in eating. Rice Cereal is just around the corner.

Letters to Santa

Derek is an editor for the local newspaper. Right now he is working on a section, entitled "Letter's to Santa". He received letters written by third graders to pass along to Santa. I love kids, and have always admired what they say and what is important to them. My curiosity got the best of me.

What does an eight year old want for Christmas?

Well I'll show you.

I also had the thought of: what will these children be like when they are older? If only we could go back in time and read our own Letters to Santa. I also found it interesting that only one child wrote about Jesus and Christmas. Would it reflect on the type of people we are now? What personality could you foresee at such a young age? There were so many cute ones but here are some favorites.

Dear Santa,

Santa, I know that you should be alone when you come to my house so we wont stay up late or video tape you. I’v learned that you are a Europian from my dad. Who were your parents? Are there sections in your workshop that you make pacific things? Can you make cars?

This year I want to get a calculator shaped like a game cube remote colored black, a new water proof camoflouge digital watch, and a spy net watch that takes pictures, videos, and has a built in lie detector.

How are you doing? Thank you for the wonderful Christmas presents from last year. I realley loved them. How’s Mrs. Claus? How are your elves and your reindeer? Brigadeiro a Brazilian treat!

For Derek's Language class they made and brought treats from the country they served their mission in. Since Derek went to Brazil, we made Brigadeiro together. It was my first time having it and I loved them. It reminded me of little chocolate caramels covered in sprinkles. They're really easy to make, so I thought I would share.

You'll Need:

1 (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1 Tablespoon butter

3 Tablespoons Cocoa

Chocolate sprinkles

I just used the store name brand for each ingredient. You can also use cocoa powder or malted Ovaltine for the chocolate flavor.

On low-med heat vigorously stir condensed milk, butter, and cocoa power together.

The mixture will thicken enough to show the bottom of the pan. (Be patient, it takes a while)

Pour into greased dish and let cool.

Grease hands with butter and roll into 1 1/2 inch balls.

It's traditional to decorate with chocolate sprinkles. You can also use powdered sugar, or colored sprinkles. We liked a firmer texture so we refrigerated them.

I sing a lot to Weston. Luckily, he's still young enough to not know I don't have a very good voice. We sing head, shoulders, knees and toes touching each chubby body part. At three months he loved everything about his fingers. It wasn't until four months he found his piggily wiggily toes.

North Menan Butte - Hike to "R" Mountain

Being a Colorado girl I love to hike. I thought it was time for Weston to have his first hike too. I had never hiked R mountain and it was only 8 miles away and a short hike so it was perfect.

At the top you could see a view of the snake river and sand dunes

What makes this place pretty cool is that it is a cinder coned formed by an old volcano. Considered to be a geological wonder. You can walk all around the top.

For my birthday present Weston and I went to visit Abuela and Greg for a week in Denver.

I was really nervous to fly alone with Weston. I thought I was going to have some kind of break down in the middle of DIA but no such thing happened. Thankfully Weston slept the whole way there and back.

We all went out to dinner at a fancy Italian place called Gabriel's. It was beyond the best food I have ever had. Happy Birthday to us!

I got to see my bestie Chelsey, her hubs Casey and play with cute Griffin!

We had a lovely Sunday on a perfect Colorado day.

Before I left my brother James took me out to brunch at Lucile's Creole Cafe. He always knows the tastiest places to eat.

We had beignets with homemade jam ( I'm still drooling over) the best biscuits I've ever had, omelets, potatoes, grits...the works! My waistline could have cared less. Definitely going back.

Weston gives it a two thumbs up.. or fists up I guess.

James will be a good dad someday! Weston had a good time.

At two months Weston weighs 12.8 pounds (77%) and is 24.3 inches (91%) long! He has started cooing a lot, and wants to have "conversations" back with you. He loves being sung songs to and swing in his swing. He wears 3 month clothes because he's so tall, (he doesn't quite fill them out width wise all the way). I've heard him laugh in his sleep but no giggles yet, just lots of smiles.

I love cupcakes. We have a favorite cupcake shop called the Cocoa Bean, they sell giant gourmet cupcakes and I order snicker-doodle every time. I always wish I could duplicate these delectable sweets , so when my friend Elise showed me this cookies and cream cupcake recipe from her friend's blog we just had to try it. I think these cupcakes in particular would look nice at an upcoming Halloween party, or maybe that's just my excuse to make them again.

{From Sugar Delish } What you Need:

1 Box of white/or yellow cake mix ... I used yellow I think it has more taste.

1 stick butter (melted)

1 cup water

3 eggs

Package of Oreos (whole oreos)

Preheat the oven to 350 place the cupcake liners in tin and place an oreo on the bottom of each

In a large bowl, beat cake mix, melted butter, eggs and water mix on low speed and increase to med for about 2 minutes fill the cupcake lines 2/3 full and back for about 20 minutes or until done

Now when the cupcake are baking make the filling:

what you Need:

12oz jar of Marshmallow cream

1 Stick salted butter (softened)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

4 1/4 Tablespoons heavy cream

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

In a large bowl, beat the butter, Marshmallow creme, Heavy cream and vanilla on low- medium speed until the mixture is smooth. slowly add the powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time and beat for about a minute. Place the filling in the refrigerater until cupcakes are done baking and have been cooled.

Once the cupcake have been cooled, you can then remove the filling from the refrigerator and fill the cupcakes. You can do this a few different ways, what I have is a cupcake scooper from williams and sonoma, other ways, cutting a small whole in the top of the cupcake and spooning in the filling or taking a pastry bag and piping it in.

Frosting, What you need:

4 sticks salted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

2 1/4 teaspoons vanilla

8 Cups powdered sugar

17 Oreos, crushed super SUPER FINE!

In a large bowl Beat cream, butter and vanilla on low-medium speed until really smooth, slowly add the powdered sugar cup at a time and mix in between each cup. when the powdered sugar in all mixed in beat for another 2 minutes Fold in the SUPER FINE oreos.

Oreo Frosting? Yes Please!

Mama Called the Doctor and the Doctor Said...

No Weston was not jumping on the bed, but he did get his two month shots. Three in his thigh and one orally. He did better than I did at the doctors office, he only cried for a little (I felt SO bad). Yesterday he got a fever of 100.8 degrees. We had already given him Tylenol and he wasn't feeling better. I called the doctor, and he said if he got a temperature of 102 to come in. Last night he would not let us put him down. So we broke the rules and let him snuggle in bed with us just this once.

Right after the shots he calmed down looking at the fish tank. I've always wanted one for my house! Someday :)

This week I started running again. Interestingly enough I would say that running is more of a challenge now than when I was pregnant. (Mostly because of my uh....new "assets") Anytime I can find during the day I try and go.

Then maybe in a couple months I can feel comfortable slipping into a little red hot lady in red dress perhaps? I can't wait to see what fall fashion has to offer me.

Summer Please Stay

Having a babe means having lots of people come visit. I love it! We should of thought of having a baby earlier, then maybe more people would come to our small town. (Especially in this lovely summer weather). My sister and niece came from Arizona, and Brother in laws and sister in law came from Utah.

We walked to the temple,

got wet kisses,

rode the carousel,

got spoiled by aunt Jenna and her yummy cooking,

and celebrated his birthday with some Cocoa Bean cupcakes! (Thanks Dev, Di, and Chad!)

Both visits were very relaxing. I think every should try sleeping like this don't you?

Family Reunion

Every year Derek's Family has two reunions. One in Willow Flats, ID (before Weston came) and the other in a cabin in Parowan, UT. Both places let you get in touch with your nature side. There is NO cell phone reception, NO televison, NO distractions.....I love it. I have to admit, it made me miss my side of the family A LOT.

Can you believe this isn't even close to half of the family?

We played catch, threw hatchets, and did the anual horseshoe competition... which I miserably failed at, but I just blamed it on my belly being in the way.

The water was freezing, but always nice to dip your feet in to cool off.

My mom came and helped us out with the baby for a week when we came home from the hospital.

She made us dinner, did our laundry, washed the dishes, cleaned our house and volunteered to take the 2am to 9am shift, and we GLADLY accepted. { I may have cried when she left}

Something Old & Something New

We heard a knock on our door and a ten year old boy asked if he could do any chores for some money. He wanted to earn money to join his friends at the newly opened Water Park across the street from our apartment complex. Derek and I weren't sure what work to give him and then we realized he could help sand our dresser! He sanded his little heart out and we gave him enough money to play at the water park with his friends.

I snapped a quick shot of the boys working hard together. I daydreamed for a short time of what it would be like when Weston gets older and works together with his dad : )

A LONG post for a Long Labor!

It all started Monday morning, I thought my water had broken, but it wasn't a big gush like you see in the movies so I wasn't sure. I called the Dr's office and they said its normal to have a little bit of fluids and not to worry about it. So I went out to lunch with my friends and at the restaurant I felt a bigger leak. I told my friend Elise as we were leaving and she took me home. As I got out of the car I looked down at her passenger seat and it was soaked! Ah! We started laughing and ran inside to tell Derek. We called the Dr's office again and made an appointment to come in. Sure enough my water had broken, so they sent me straight to the hospital.

We checked in at 4:00pm. They started me on antibiotic because I was Strep B Positive. At 5:30 they started me on a Pitocin IV to help jump start contractions because I was only 2cm dialated. I was bummed out that they wanted me on Pitocin because we had practiced Hypnobirthing and I wanted to have a natural birth experience. But because my water had broken 8 hours earlier, they needed to hurry the labor along to reduce chances of infection.

At first it just seemed like a regular Monday night. We watched the Bachelorette while I sat on my birth ball and just waited for baby to come. I still wasn't feeling the contractions at all, even though they were consistent every three minutes.

This hospital was strict about having a liquids and ice only diet. I was dying because I hadn't eaten since lunch and all I could have was water! Shawnee saved my life by bringing me a Peach Mango Snoasis! Mi Favorita!

Still waiting for something to happen! Just playin' some Yahtzee!

It wasn't until 2:00 AM when I actually started feeling the contractions. They still weren't very strong.{about a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10} It was just enough to keep me awake, right when I closed my eyes to try and get some rest another surge would come. When we had checked in I was SO sure he would have been here by now, and I would be holding him in my arms. But there was still such a long way to go. At 4:30 AM the fetal monitors on my stomach had a hard time reading his heart rate. Baby's heart rate was jumping around due to stress, and even dropped down to around 80 beats per minute for three or four minutes {his normal heart rate was 125 beats per minute}. My nurse and midwife were getting worried, and coached me to change positions { I probably changed around to 4 or 5 different ones}. As soon as they got him rested and his heart rate was stabilized, they inserted a Fetal Scalp electrode. Which monitored his heart rate electronically. THEY HAD TO SCREW IT IN HIS LITTLE HEAD!

At the same time my Midwife checked me, hoping for some progress, but I WAS STILL ONLY 2CM DILATED! NOTHING HAD HAPPENED IN OVER 14 HOURS! I was starting to get a little discouraged. At this point they were leaning towards Plan B... a C-Section. : ( At 7AM my midwife had another doctor come in for a second opinion. FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS! I had gone from 2CM to 4CM in just over an hour. They decided to insert the intraunterine pressure catheter to measure the pressure of how strong my contractions were. {See above picture}

After my contractions were getting stronger and uncomfortable, DEREK HAD TO LEAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TO TAKE A FINAL!!

Luckily I had a GREAT nurse, and an AMAZING friend Alyssa, to fill in for a little . My breathing techniques I learned in Hypnobirthing really helped me get through each surge. In fact, I hardly remember anything because I got into such a relaxed state, this post is mostly from Derek's memory.

By the time Derek got back, they were once again leaning towards a C-Section. They had already prepped me and given me the tags for the surgery. My wonderful nurse convinced them to wait until Derek got back and check one more time for any progress. Derek gave me a priesthood blessing that all would go well. The Dr. came in 5 minutes later to make the final decision. Some more great news!! I was dilated to nearly an 8, so all thoughts of a C-Section had dissolved. I felt SO happy.

Three hours later at 4:01 PM { 24 Hours from check-in} I pulled baby Weston out into my arms!!!!

We wanted to wait to cut the umbilical cord until it stopped pulsating to pass on as many nutrients as possible to the baby before he was disconnected from mommy!

Even though it was a LONG labor it was the birth experience that I wanted. We made it through with out an epidural and only 18 hours worth of Pitocin {Haha}.

We got the Huckleberry Flavor. You can add LOTS of things to your drink like Phosphorus- I guess it gives it a sour flavor. We just stuck with the carbonated mineral water and syrup.

It was fantastically bubbly.

We shared a pizza called the "Old Faithful" but they had other menu items called " The Grand Teton" & " The Big Bad Wolf"

Also fantastically cheesy.

We stopped to check out the Grand Tetons. No I did not dress like a mountain man or Al from Home Improvement on purpose. Derek's shirt fit well when I woke up, so it stayed.

Full Moon?

Have you ever heard of the old wives tale that when there is a full moon more babies are born? My mom told me with her first baby, {my brother James} it was a full moon and 57 babies were born that same night! Luckily she had a room all to herself because she had a c-section.Some studies believe it has to do with barometric pressure and the relationship of tides and also the fact that our bodies are made up of 80% of water.

Though I've never been one to believe in silly myths, I think I just might have to make this my next purchase just in case he comes on July 14th instead of the 24th:

LAX Days

We've been taking it pretty easy here at the Bergquist household. Lots of days spent at the parks playing. The only sports I can really engage in are Frisbee and some Lacrosse with our friends Brady & Alyssa. Otherwise I am the basketball cheerleader for Derek on the sidelines while catching some rays.

Love, I Just Haven't Met You Yet

The past couple weeks I have been on vacation visiting my family and in-laws for baby showers. (Derek was in school so he couldn't come with me). First I flew to Denver, where my mom created a beautiful "nesting" shower theme.

We were listening to the Michael Bublé CD and the song "Haven't Met You Yet" was playing. So my mom said: " It's like you and your baby, 'love, I just haven't met you yet'!" So naturally that has been my favorite song on my Ipod.

My mom and brother ordered these cute petit' fours and cake from Gateaux Pastries . They were so pretty and yummy!

Besties I haven't seen in forever. It was so fun to catch up!

Later on in the week we did lots of shopping, gardening, and took long walks together.

Celebrating Mother's Day : ) We had a nice Bar-B-Que outside and enjoyed the perfect Mile High weather.

Then it was off to California! This shower had a cute "bow-tie" theme. With everything from bow-tie pasta salad to bow-tie chocolate covered strawberries.

We also tried making red velvet Cake Pops . I never had these before but will make them again!

Happy Earth Day! A year ago for Earth Day I was visiting my sister... with a flatter stomach. I have been progressively growing and feeling a little global lately. I just entered my third trimester and it is now harder to bend over, run, and find an outfit that actually fits me everywhere.

The Best Three Years!... and Many More

I can't believe Derek and I have been married for three years already. It has gone by so fast. Although when we look at all of our pictures and the places we've been, you would think it was longer. So far we have moved 9 times and lived in 6 different states all over the country, and we've loved every minute of it. There is nothing like road tripping with your favorite person.

Devin and Diana invited us to go to Valley of Fire, NV with them so we decided that was a perfect way to celebrate and get some warm weather! Valley of Fire has beautiful natural rock formations, slot canyons, ancient petroglyphs, and hikes. It reminded me a lot of Garden of the Gods in Colorado. We decided to camp for a night.

In a hurry to escape for the weekend, we may have forgotten a few essentials... like a tent! Haha so we camped out under the stars : )

The "rainbow" sandstone was so pretty. At sunset the sun hit the rocks so it had a rainbow effect of oranges, purples, yellows and reds.

Half Way There

On Tuesday we found out that we are having a little Boy! We couldn't be more excited. We don't have any names picked out yet but we have plenty of time to figure that out because now I"m twenty weeks- half way there.

On Saturday Derek and I went to the Home and Family Conference and Floral Show after. Maybe not the manliest thing to do with your wife- he must sure love me.

If anyone knows Derek well you know that he is obsessed with the Lakers. If someone asks what gift to give him for his birthday or Christmas I always say "Something Lakers". The first time I realized this was when we were dating in 2006.

Island Park

Our friends Andrew and Lexi invited us to go to Island Park with them to go snowmobiling (Idahoans call it "snow machining" which I find humorous for some reason) . I had only been to Island Park in the summer and it was beautiful, so I was curious to see the difference in the middle of February. We hopped on our sleds and the powdery snow blown trail we blazed!

We could see the Grand Tetons up at the top of the mountain.

A lot of the trees had SO much snow they would sway with the wind.

Some of the areas off the trail we would fall in the snow waist deep or more! Needless to say we played it on the safe side and stuck to the trail and enjoyed the beautiful landscape.

Every morning I look out my kitchen window to a plethora of elephant tusk sized icicles. I am sometimes tricked by the warm sunshine seeping through and the little drops of water I watch drip off of the ice. When the weather is warm we always go to the sand dunes and have a bonfire. Luckily we have friends who convinced us to go with them even in the winter.

Blankets of snow covered the usual hills of sand. We found our favorite spot-in the middle of nowhere. Perfect shootin area.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Currently we have been experiencing a few "lemons" in our life:

Derek had his wisdom teeth pulled... and then got dry sockets later

Not being able to play outside in just a T-shirt

Getting used to wearing glasses

But the next lemon we like, because it's the size of our BABY!!

This week we're 14 weeks pregnant which means our baby is pretty cute and growing. Our due date is July 24th. To be honest, each week I have eaten something that was about the size of our baby: poppy seeds, lentil beans, rice, blueberries, kidney beans, grapes, a kumquat (ok I ate a clementine instead), a fig, lime, and now a lemon. So drink up! Who says you have to have lemonade only in the summer?

Today I helped take down all of the Christmas Magic. We spent our Christmas In California this year. It was our first year since we've been married being in California with Derek's family. In hopes of sunny, warm, blue skys we got rain instead.... A LOT of it. It FLOODED their lake in the back yard

So we stayed inside and dipped pretzels to give out to friends and neighbors instead

It does not seem like four years ago when one of my besties from Denver, Chelsey, encouraged me to come to BYU-Idaho with her. I have really been reflecting in my journals and I know I have been blessed with a wonderful family and good friends!Chelsey and her family along with my own family and ward members helped me to have the desire to not only go to college but to have the goal to finish. And this weekend that is exactly what I did. HOORAY! At BYUI I have met life time friends, found my wonderful husband, and gained a testimony in our Savior Jesus Christ. Here are some pictures just from this weekend.We took a tour of the School, the new BYUI Center that was recently dedicated and modeled after the conference center, went to the banquet, and graduation.

The Messiah

Last Sunday the University Orchestra, Band, Collegiate Singers, Men's Choir,Women's Choir, University Choir and Women's Glee were all apart of the 122nd concert of Handel's Messiah. Performing with hundreds of people was something new to me. The show sold out! Unfortunately the event was not recorded, due to the setting up for the dedication of the new BYU-I Center, dedication and graduation; but my awesome husband was able to capture some on video. It was so great to testify of Jesus Christ through music with so many talented students! Enjoy!

Thanksgiving

Ok so I am officially the worst at documenting holidays. I did not break out the camera once this past holiday. Maybe it's because I want a new camera. Actually that's exactly why. I will make this short because I know no one really reads blogs with out pictures.

We were fortunate enough to drive in the middle of a blizzard both ways going to and from California. They ended up closing the highway so I was thankful we made it through to say goodbye to Derek's younger brother who is leaving on a mission to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. ( Thank you four wheel drive). We shopped, took family pictures, sunbathed in 65 degree weather ( it seemed so warm compared to Rexburg), made Pilgrim and Indian hats with the cousins, touched the insides of a turkey, attempted Black Friday-never again its not for me, and ate way too much. I'll see if I can steal some pics from the family later.

I have to practice for Handel's Messiah we are playing in Orchestra next Sunday. It's one of the reasons why this is my favorite time of year : )

Weekend

This weekend I got to see my friends Whitney and Amanda. I grew up with them in my ward in Colorado when we first moved there. Amanda's family moved to Texas and Whitney's family moved to Utah so it was so much fun to see each other. Amanda also goes to school here, but I had not seen Whitney in 4 years since before Derek and I got married! I could not believe it had been that long ago. We had lunch and chatted. Love these girls!!

This semester I decided to play in the University Orchestra and I am so glad I am! We had our first concert. Derek came and watched ( even though the Laker game already started) and brought me a rose. What a sweet heart! We played pieces from composers Mendelssohn, Turina, and Cundik. I was really nervous since I haven't played in an orchestra since high school but it went really well! After we grabbed some frozen yogurt ( plain tart is my fav) and finished up the Laker game. Birthday Bash

So any one who knows me knows that I love finding reasons to celebrate my birthday! Which means we have been celebrating for about a month now haha. When we left Tennessee we drove 19 hours straight and got to my parents house at 4:30 in the morning.

Foster Falls

After we hiked the Fiery Grizzard Trail we drove a couple miles down to hike to Foster Falls. You could hear the waterfall from the road. We also got a sneak peak before we hiked down to the base.

Fiery Grizzard Trail

On Monday Derek and I went to the South Cumberland State Park. There were SO many cool hikes and sites to see there. I wished we could have had time to see them all, I could have spent all weekend here! The first stop we decided to go to was the Fiery Grizzard Trail.

On this trail we saw caves, a 500 year old Hemlock tree,

LOTS of waterfalls, and deep pools with clear river water.

We decided to take a Dip.

We drove from Carthage for a few hours and saw the St. Louis Arch, so we had to stop and take a break and check it out. They had a shuttle you could ride to the top! We wanted to go but we did not have enough time so it was back to the Bat mobile.

When we were on our way to our new Tennessee home, we got caught in the middle of a HUGE rainstorm. At first it was really windy and then it seemed like tropical rainstorm. We had to drive 30mph on the highway at night for over an hour. It was the hardest rain I have seen in a long time. Luckily we made it there safely.

On the Road again... Part Uno

The drive from Minneapolis to Tennessee was a long one. We said our official goodbyes to Minne by playing some golf, and eating at our favorite local places. We decided to take a break in the middle of the road trip and stop in the middle to visit historic Nauvoo. Neither Derek or I had been there before so we tried to take it all in a go to as many places as possible in one day. We were able to see the beautiful Nauvoo Temple and we also drove to Carthage Jail after Nauvoo. It was the anniversary of Joseph Smith's murder and they had special ceremony at both places. We weren't able to stay and see it all but I am really glad we went!

Mah Girls and the Monumental Minnesota Move!

We had quite an epic journey when we moved from Hopkins,MN to Mt. Juliet, TN. The trip had many stops including Nauvoo, IL, and St. Louis, MI . So there are MANY blog updates coming (dare I say blog-arrhea?). But FIRST I had to dedicate a wife club post. I love these girls. They are so much fun to be around and keep me sane and laughing all summer long. These pics are all from downtown Minneapolis and an awesome Slumber Party while the boys were away for work for the weekend. And yes it did include truth or dare, staying up all night, and a candy hangover. They definitely know how to Party!! It was what seems now like a long time ago since so much has happened since.

It feels like it has been so long since I could sleep in late, feel the warm sun, and get out and enjoy some of my favorite things. We went to the Como Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul last week. I love flowers and animals plus it was free so how could you say no. And naturally after wards we went to Chipotle downtown. Good times with some great friends!

Lately we have just been to taking it easy in Minnesota. So far the weather has been less desirable than expected here. But when it has been we try and take advantage of it like BBQs with our friends. I'm taking D&C and Money Management online while Derek works. I haven't decided if I want to have a job this summer yet. I have taken 40 credit hours at BYUI since September, so I'm a little burned out. I have one more semester starting this fall, and I can't wait to finish. I also have not decided if I want to work because I have had a list of hobbies I have been wanting to do while I was in school, but just didn't have the time. Some of them are: Do P90X, start my reading book list, practice my violin, and learn Portuguese on Rosetta Stone. Yesterday Derek called me after work and said he had won a couple tickets from work to go see Iron Man at the Imax theater. We try to go on dates once a week so it was nice to go on a free date. It's the little things in life that make it so great.
